European Egg Commerce (Zentralverband Eier - ZVE) is an association of companies which market or process eggs and egg products. The aim of the association is to inform and advise its members on a regular basis and to safeguard their common interests vis-à-vis public authorities and institutions. To this end, ZVE publishes a weekly newsletter where its members can find out about the latest developments in the eggs and egg products market. The association’s activities focus on participating in the drafting of the relevant regulations, laws and directives at both national and EU level in the fields of marketing, customs matters, food law and hygiene, zoonosis law, animal welfare, packaging and the environment. European Egg Commerce is also represented on many of the food-processing industry’s bodies and committees. The aim of these activities is to create transparency as well as a uniform regulatory framework for the trade in eggs and egg products and to remove national and international barriers to trade.
